Earlier in May, the government had recruited 2,000 doctors from the 39th Special BCS (Health) waiting list with unprecedented speed. This time, the doctors who will be appointed in the new special BCS will have to work in the service of Covid patients. Health Secretary Abdul Mannan told on Monday that the process of recruiting 2,000 more assistant surgeons is underway to control the current situation. They will be recruited through special BCS.
Appointment soon with the approval of the Prime Minister
According to the Ministry of Health, various government hospitals across the country have been set up to treat patients with Kavid-19. Apart from this, two separate isolation centers have been set up at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) and a market in Dhaka North City Corporation. There has been a mapping of private medical college hospitals, private clinics, etc. that can treat this disease all over the country.
These hospitals require intensive care by doctors and nurses for patients with Kavid-19. But with the number of doctors in the country at present, there is some problem in providing necessary services to the patients affected by corona. In this context, the government has decided to appoint doctors on an emergency basis to provide medical services to the affected patients.
The new specialty in the corona-virus epidemic
The letter, sent on July 2, said that ninth grade posts were being created for 2,000 assistant surgeons through a special BCS on an emergency basis. The letter further said that it took a long time to get the approval of the Secretary Committee on Administrative Development to create cadre posts.
For this reason, in case of this appointment, the approval of the Secretary Committee on Administrative Development will be shown. The recruited doctors will be posted in various ‘Kavid’ hospitals through attachment. After the completion of the medical activities of the patients affected by corona, they will be posted in the cadre posts of various health institutions as per the decision of the health department. According to the Ministry of Public Administration, the proposal of the Ministry of Health will be sent to the Public Service Commission (PSC) soon. Then PSC will start the recruitment process.
According to the Department of Health, the names of doctors are coming in the highest rate of coronary heart disease in the country. Several doctors who were directly and indirectly involved in the treatment also died. More than a thousand have been infected. As the number of doctors in the country is low, the government is appointing doctors, nurses and medical technologists in a special initiative to keep the health sector in a strong position.
